What you will do

As an AI Design Technologist you help shape how we build, design and deliver by turning AI potential into real, practical workflows, prototypes and tools.

• Architect and build robust automation workflows and integrations, moving beyond simple scripts to reliable, scalable code (APIs, webhooks, full-stack apps).

• Engineer internal products from scratch; building research assistants, synthetic-user engines, and dashboards that become core to our operations.

• Lead technical implementation on client projects: build functional AI-infused prototypes and POCs for complex service challenges.

• Operationalize AI: Transition experiments into reliable daily tools, managing the choice between frontier models and hosted open-source solutions.

• Partner with design teams to translate creative intent into technical logic, prompt strategies, and reproducible workflows.

• Define the standard for AI governance and data privacy, establishing the technical protocols for how Koos handles client data and model compliance.

What we expect from you

Your profile:

• You are a Creative Engineer: You are a developer first, but understand / like design.

• A relevant university (WO) or applied sciences (HBO) degree

• 5+ years of relevant work experience

• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus

• 'Let's go' Mindset: You don't wait for permission; you spot opportunities to build solutions independently.

• Availablefrom March/April for 32/36/40 hours a week. (start date to be discussed)

Technical fluency

• Engineering & Prototyping: You write production-quality code in JavaScript/TypeScript. You are comfortable building complete applications and spin up rapid prototypes using frameworks like React or Vue.js.

• Applied AI & RAG: You go beyond simple prompts. You have hands-on experience integrating LLMs via APIs (Gemini, Anthropic) and building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines to connect AI models safely to client data.

• System Integration: You act as the glue between services. Advanced skills in automation platforms (Make, N8N) combined with custom code (Webhooks, API requests) to handle complex data routing and authentication.

• Deployment (DevOps Lite): You don't just code on your laptop; you ship. Experience deploying tools to accessible environments (e.g., Vercel, Docker, Cloud Run) so the design team can actually use what you build.

• Technical Bridge: As our technology lead, you can translate complex engineering concepts into "design language," helping the team understand what is technically feasible without killing their creativity.

Design and product mindset

• Strong familiarity with the design process: Understand the workflows from research, through strategy and design to delivery

• Ability to understand designers’ needs and turn them into usable tools

• Product thinking: able to own small internal tools end to end, balancing experimentation with stability

• Working directly with design teams to create client proof of concepts and prototypes.
